The licence for this app is Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. It governs what you may do with the app, along with the warranty, liability and legal terms that come with it.
The terms below sit alongside it. They describe what each tool can and cannot do, and how anything bought in the app works.
By downloading or using Toolkit (the "app") you agree to those terms and to these. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Toolkit reads sensors your iPhone already has. Those sensors are good, and they are not laboratory instruments. Every tool in the app opens by saying so once, before you use it, and the same statements are repeated here.
The stud finder finds metal, not wood. The magnetometer reacts to screws, nails, pipes and wiring. It cannot sense timber, and it cannot tell you which metal it has found. Never drill on this reading alone.
The tape measure estimates. Distance is worked out from camera motion. Over a short span expect a centimetre or two out; over a room, more. For anything that has to fit, check it with a tape.
The sound meter is not calibrated. A phone microphone has no traceable sensitivity and its response is shaped by the case. Read it as an approximation, never as evidence. Anything official needs a Class 1 or 2 meter.
The level is only as good as its zero. A case, or a camera standing proud of the back, tilts the phone by a fraction of a degree. Set zero against a surface you trust.
Do not rely on this app where being wrong carries a cost — structural work, electrical work, gas, anything load-bearing, any legal or official measurement, or any decision affecting health, safety or property. Use the right instrument and, where the work calls for one, a qualified person.
Anything sold in the app is sold through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may vary by territory.
Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
The measurements and calibrations you make are yours. They stay on your device — see the Privacy Policy — and we claim no rights over them.
These terms may be updated; the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
